What membership is, and what it is not
One way families help keep the shared home running. You do not need it to visit, and you do not need it to belong.
Members get discounts on paid programs. Plenty stays free and open to everyone, and money is never the reason a family cannot take part. There is help, and asking for it is private.
It is not a ticket
Anyone can walk in, come to an open date, and be part of this without paying anything.
It is not per child
A household is a household. What it includes is written out on the membership page, in full.
It is not the only way in
Volunteering, mentoring and hosting are all ways families are part of this place.

Three ways this gets built
A village is built by the people in it. None of these needs you to be an expert, and none of them starts with money.
Give time
Set up a room, run a desk, drive a van, stay for the clean-up. The jobs that keep a building open are ordinary and they are always short.
Volunteer with usBring what you know
Mentor a young person, teach a skill, or host something of your own inside the building. Young people need adults who show up more than they need another program.

Donations pay for the rooms, the staff and the places we keep free. We are a 501(c)(3) program of UMMA Foundation, so it is tax-deductible.

What families ask first
Every one of these is answered in full, in writing, on a page you can read before you decide anything.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Friday Nights and Family Sundays are free, take no membership and no account, and you can reserve a place in about a minute. If you would rather see the building quietly first, ask for a look around and we will walk you through it, at 6 Arc Place, Staten Island.
Families, ages 4 and up, across seven stages: Early Learners (4–6), Growing Minds (7–10), Middle School (11–13), High School (14–18), Young Adults (19–29), Lifelong Learners (30–59), Always Belong (60+). It is built for Muslim families and open to every family that shares the values.
No. UMMA Center is Muslim-rooted and open to all. Our values show through character and how we treat each other, never through gatekeeping.
There is no staffed reception desk. Before leaving your child, confirm supervision, attendance and pickup arrangements with the session leader. Our safety page distinguishes software controls, adopted policies and safeguards that are still being reviewed.
Some of it is free with no membership at all: Friday Nights, Family Sundays and open workshops. Beyond that there is a free Community tier and two family plans, each covering up to five people in your household for one flat monthly price, with no per-child fee inside that. Bigger household? Talk to us rather than assuming the answer is no. Current prices are on the membership page.

Coffee and somewhere to sit. Rooms for studying, making things and praying. Space for teenagers that is theirs. Mentors who open doors. Programs for parents, for adults, and for elders whose experience the rest of us need. Families who know each other well enough to help without being asked.
We are building it in the order families tell us they need it.
