Sponsor the village

Help build something the whole community can use.

Sponsor open access for families, a program for a season, a room, the equipment in it, or the early work that has to happen before any program can. Most of it is not glamorous. All of it is the difference between a building and a village.

Nothing is agreed until it is in writing. Sending an enquiry commits you to nothing.

An illustrated conversation: three adults sitting around a small round table with cups and a notebook, talking something through.

Six things, not four tiers

What you can sponsor

There is no price list, because the useful amount depends on what you want to back. Pick the one that sounds like you and we will work out the number together.

  • Open access for families

Pay for seats so a family that cannot afford a program still comes. The money goes to the Access Fund, and each amount is agreed with the family privately.

A family or a business that wants the money to reach people directly.

  • A program for a season

Cover the cost of running one program for a term: the coach, the room, the equipment, the materials. Most good programs lose money before they find their feet.

Anyone who wants to point at one real thing and say they paid for it.

  • A room or the kit in it

Studio gear, sports equipment, tables and chairs, the room that needs rewiring. One-off costs that a monthly fee cannot carry.

A business with equipment to give, or a donor who prefers a fixed cost.

  • Founding support

Early, unrestricted money that pays for the things that come before any program can: staff, a schedule, the lights. UMMA Center is new, and this is the least glamorous and most useful gift there is.

Households who want to back the whole thing rather than one part.

  • A company or institution

A workplace visit, a team of mentors, a sponsored workshop, or a multi-year commitment. Usually a mix, and always written down before it starts.

    Companies, masjids, schools and foundations.

  • Something other than money

Equipment, professional services, printing, food, a van for a day. We say yes when we can use it well and no when we cannot store it, insure it, or staff it.

Anyone whose most useful asset is not cash.

One of the six

Founding support

Early, unrestricted money for the things that come before any program: staff, a calendar, the lights. We are opening this to the first 150 households who want to back the whole thing rather than one part of it.

Founding households are named on the wall for as long as UMMA Center exists, hear things first, and get asked what they think before big decisions.

Where this stands

No founding households are recorded yet. You would be the first.

There is no total to show you and no countdown, because neither would be true yet. When the first commitment is made it appears here, and the running total stays on this page from then on.

Plainly

What sponsoring does not buy

Sponsorship is recognition and partnership, not ownership. A gift gives no equity, no control, no governance role, and no financial stake in UMMA Center or UMMA Foundation. It does not buy influence over what we teach or who we serve.

What you do get

  • A written agreement that says what the money is for before you send it.
  • A named use, so the gift is tracked against one thing rather than the general pot.
  • A report on what actually happened, including when it did not work.
  • Your name on the Founders Wall, for founding gifts, if you want it there.

Not decided yet, so not promised

  • Naming a room or a program after a person or a company
  • Permanent physical signage in the building
  • Free or lifetime membership as a benefit of giving
  • Reserved seating or guaranteed places in any program

These are real questions and we have not answered them. If one matters to you, raise it and it becomes part of the conversation rather than a surprise later.

What we turn down

Saying this first saves everybody a meeting.

  • Anything that comes with control over program content, staffing, or who is admitted.

  • Anything requiring us to endorse a product, a candidate, or a company publicly.

  • Gifts we cannot store, insure, staff, or maintain — an unusable donation costs us money.

  • Support conditional on access to young people outside our safeguarding rules.

Start here

Tell us what you have in mind.

A sponsorship is a conversation that ends in a written agreement. This form is the start of the conversation, not the agreement.

  1. 01You send this. Nothing is committed.
  2. 02We call you and work out what actually fits.
  3. 03We write it down: what the money is for, and what you get.
  4. 04You sign it, or you do not. Either is fine.
  5. 05It happens, and we tell you how it went.

Leave blank if this is your family.

A sponsorship starts with a conversation, so we do need to be able to call.

What might you want to support (required)

Pick anything that sounds close. Nothing here is binding.

Only if you already have a figure in mind. A range is fine, and so is leaving this empty.

Even a couple of sentences is enough to start.

Sending this is not a commitment and does not agree anything. We use your details only to reply to you about this enquiry. Nothing is published, and your name does not appear anywhere unless you later ask for it to.

Another way to help

If this one is not yours, one of these probably is.
