What we build

More than a recording room.

A good microphone can make you sound clear. It cannot decide what your show is about, who it is for, or why someone should come back for episode two. We help build that part too.

What we help shape

  • The idea
  • The audience
  • The format
  • The show identity
  • The episode plan
  • The production workflow
  • The release plan
  • The growth plan

Not every project needs all of this, and not every project gets all of it. We agree on what we are doing together before work starts.

Why we do this

The microphone is not the product.

The show is not the final product either. What lasts is the knowledge you preserved, the voice you strengthened, and the conversation someone finds two years from now and needs.

Three pathways

Choose how we build it.

Ownership depends on how we build the project together. We agree on it in writing before production starts.

Studio Access

You already have a show, or you are ready to start one, and you want to keep it yours.

Who develops the concept
You do. We can help you sharpen it if you want that.
Who owns the show
You own the show.
Who controls the feed
You control the feed, the name, and the publishing schedule.
Separate written agreement
Not required for a single session. Any commercial arrangement is confirmed in writing.
What UMMA may provide, what you bring, and how terms work

UMMA may provide

  • Time in the recording room
  • The equipment that is set up in the room
  • Production services when we have agreed to them in advance

You bring

  • Your show, your guests, and your editorial choices
  • Your own editing and publishing, unless we agree otherwise
  • Care for the room and the people in it

How it works

  • There are two ways to arrange access. Option one: no studio fee, in exchange for one approved 60-second UMMA community message in each episode recorded through that arrangement. We supply the message as finished audio.
  • Option two: we quote you a rate. Tell us when you ask and we will price the session instead. Commercial work is always quoted before booking.
  • Other written arrangements are possible. Ask.
  • We record which sessions ran the message and where the episode was published, because a trade only works if both halves happen.
  • Anyone recording here follows the studio rules, the law, our safeguarding requirements, guest-release requirements, and the conduct expected in the building.

UMMA Co-Production

You want to build a show with UMMA rather than beside it.

Who develops the concept
We develop it together.
Who owns the show
Agreed in writing before production starts. It is not automatic and it is not always the same.
Who controls the feed
Agreed in writing. It may be your feed, our feed, or a shared one.
Separate written agreement
Required before production begins.
What UMMA may provide, what you bring, and how terms work

UMMA may provide

  • Show development and format work
  • Branding and show identity
  • Production, guest strategy, and editing, where we have agreed to them
  • Distribution, promotion, and audience growth, where we have agreed to them

You bring

  • The voice, the subject knowledge, and the hosting
  • The commitment a season actually needs
  • Everything else the written agreement names

How it works

  • Ownership, revenue, exclusivity, responsibilities, and how long the arrangement runs are agreed in writing before production begins.
  • There is no standard split. Anyone who tells you the answer before the conversation is guessing.
  • We start with a pilot. A co-production is a long commitment on both sides, and one episode is the honest way to find out whether it should happen.

UMMA Original

You want to host, produce, or help build a show that UMMA creates and owns.

Who develops the concept
UMMA develops it. You can shape it from the inside.
Who owns the show
UMMA owns the show.
Who controls the feed
UMMA controls the feed and the release schedule.
Separate written agreement
Required before production begins.
What UMMA may provide, what you bring, and how terms work

UMMA may provide

  • The concept, the development, and the funding
  • The production around the show
  • A named role for you in it

You bring

  • Hosting, producing, guest development, or research
  • The time the role actually takes

How it works

  • UMMA ownership, your role, exclusivity, compensation, and any revenue participation are defined by a written agreement.
  • You can propose an UMMA Original. A proposal is a starting point for a conversation, not a commission.

Exact services and terms are confirmed before production.

How it goes

From idea to launch.

Sending a request does not confirm a booking, and it does not mean a project is accepted. We review availability and fit first.

  1. Discover

Your idea, your purpose, your audience, and whether UMMA is the right home for it.

  2. Design

The format, the name, the show identity, the episode structure, and a show blueprint.

  3. Pilot

Prepare, record, review, and improve one test episode before anyone commits to a season.

  4. Build

Ownership, roles, the season plan, guests, releases, and a production schedule. All in writing.

  5. Launch

Publish, distribute, promote, measure, and improve.

The space

One room, and we will tell you what is in it.

The Podcast Studio is a recording room inside UMMA Center. Live recordings with an audience happen in the Main Area, which is a different and much larger room.

The podcast studio: a wooden recording table with red chairs, microphones on boom arms and mugs set out, beneath two wall-mounted screens.

Capacity 70.

Room capacity is the number of people the room is approved to hold, including everyone recording.

What we have not published yet

We have not published an equipment list, a microphone or camera count, sound-treatment details, livestream capability, editing software, or a file-delivery process. When those are confirmed they will appear here rather than in a sentence that implies them.

Shows

Shows and live recordings

Some UMMA Center shows are recorded in front of a small audience. Seats are free and limited by the size of the room.
